7 Solid Email Marketing Tips from Email Marketing Guru

1) Email Marketing is to INFORM. PERIOD

If you have a $500 product to sell and you are expecting email marketing to help you to sell hundreds of units, you will be in for a disappointment. Email marketing is a tool to help you to reach out to potential clients and letting them to view your websites and when they are interested, they will make further enquires with you, hence there will be a salesperson or customer service to follow up with the potential clients, that will be the actual way of doing business.

2) Setting Your Expectation Right

Do not expect immediate responds from your email list as under normal market average, it may take 5 to 8 emails to the individual list before you see some responds. Of course, if your services and products are not what they are looking for, you can expect no responds.

3) Target Marketing

It is better to email to 10,000 people who might be interested rather than 1,000,000 people who have no interest in your products or services.

4) Your Title is Very Important

Always create an interesting TITLE so that it will entice the reader. Focus on THEM rather than YOURSELF, for example, if you are selling a service that can help to create new clients for them, do not talk about how cheap or how good your service is going to be, focus on how THEY can get new clients and sales from their point of view, not YOUR point of view.

5) Your Content

Remember point 3 where it focuses on the other party? Yes, the same principle applies here to, don’t brag how good your services or product is going to be, focus on what are the BENEFITS they can get out from using your products and services.

Customers are NOT interested in your products or servicesat all, they are ONLY interested in their OWN benefits! Hence talk about THEM, THEM and THEM only….

6) Should You use html for Email Marketing?

If you have the technical knowledge, do use html as it will creates more interesting with graphic and animations. However do take note that some companies email server has an auto filter system where they delete away emails with jpg or graphic files.

7) Avoid using a Web Based Emailing Provider

There are many providers such as Constant Contact, Icontact, etc….These are monthly subscription services that allows you to manage your own email list. It is good in certain aspects but you can always use your own non-web-based software where it can stand alone and not depends on other parties.

When you are depending on other parties, there are always plenty of restrictions and most of the time it is very expensive if you have a huge list of database. I have been using a stand-alone software for over 20 years and it never has any problem.

Email marketing is one of the best way to reach out to potential client fast and using the least resources. Using email marketing to convert potential clients into sales is one of the most effective and easiest method. Imagine instead of using email marketing, you are using tele-marketing to call 100 people every day compared to reaching out to 500,000 people in one day? If you are still not into email marketing, you should be looking into it!

We use email newsletters and find that the activity on our site is at it’s highest just after it’s been sent. We don’t tend to send out emails which haven’t been asked for but have been considering it to make new leads. But we worry that we could end up annoying people and making a bad name for ourselves. We will consider your advice though!
If you need any assistance with email newsletters, we have a good blog article which could be useful to you http://www.lucidica.com/blog/online-marketing/email-marketing/top-tips-on-email-marketing-with-newsletters/
