Either he forgot to change his patches over when he got dressed in morning… or this guy doesnt know shit about shit, and I wouldn't trust him with my life.

Personally I say don't trust the recruiter. They have a quota to fill and that is their job, they may try to help you as much as they can if they are a good person, but if not all they are doing is trying to get you in. Don't fool yourself, and don't be stupid about it, the military might be the right choice, and it might not. Just know you may get screwed over, and do everything you can to prevent that from happening. The key point is information, don't just talk to the recruiter, listen to people who like their service and listen to those who hate it, you can learn a lot from all of them. Also keep in mind the longer a person has been out of the military the more things may have changed. Personally I feel the wars and actions America has been taking apart of have not been the best and have not kept us safe, but the majority of Americans disagree otherwise we wouldn't do it, so I'm not entirely apposed to serving. And due to other reasons it may be a good option for me. I've been poor all my life, I can't afford education, and no jobs where I live can even help me out of it even if I work hard, there are no good jobs where I live. And I can't afford education. But I may also just continue working pointless minimum wage jobs anyway because the military may not be worth it. Needless to say it's a big decision, and it will suck, but working a dead end job may suck more or less. It's for everyone to decide.

I am lost in these dumbass comments, can someone help me get out?

  8. February 12, 2017 at 8:16 pm —

Just remember when you get shot to death the military's number one priority will be to evict your wife and kids from base housing. Whatever death benefits and support the government promises you today can be "unpromised", sometimes even 10 or 20 years later. If you want to be a bad dad sign on the dotted line. Did you have kids just to abandon them for sometimes years ? All those deployments and your stress from being bullied and intimidated are going to rub off on your family. Before you know it the time is going to go by, the kids will be gone, most likely the wife too. Think of your son graduating from high school, moving into his first apartment, getting his first job, and enrolling in a local college. This is when he needs you the most. You live in New York and you get your orders to move to Hawaii. When is the next time you will see him ? You just abandoned him, what the fuck kind of father are you ?

  10. February 12, 2017 at 8:16 pm —

    Thanks the information really helped.

  11. February 12, 2017 at 8:16 pm —

Listening to any recruiter is your #1 fuck up. Recruiters will tell you only what you want to hear. The only thing any recruiter sees in any of their recruits is money. Sad to say but it's the truth and they don't give a shit

  12. February 12, 2017 at 8:16 pm —

what about psychopaths? what percentage of the military are such?

  13. February 12, 2017 at 8:16 pm —

If you even need the military to get a job or an education, then you need to take a good hard look at what has been happening in your life. I spent 6 years in the military and never once met a person from a rich family. President Eisenhower warned you against the military industrial complex. The rich families obviously took it to heart and concentrated on the self serving side by investing in the war machine, while brainwashed poor people think they served the patriotic side, which turned out to be the rich serving side. You will NEVER meet a person from a well off family in a VA hospital. However, if you are the kind that wants to join the military, you would have about a zero chance of being successful around those who would never think of joining, are not in a position to where they have to worry about being drafted, and come from well connected wealthy families. There are basically three types of people in the world that are analogous to the sheep, the sheep dogs, and the shepherds. Where do you fit in?

'I don't like it, no way
Up in the morning before day,
    Eat my breakfast, too soon,
    Hungry as hell, before noon.

  15. February 12, 2017 at 8:16 pm —

Make sure you try talking with experienced personnel. Don't waste your time or make decisions based off of regular civilian opinions. Your choice should not be made from people guessing with no experience. Find and talk to real servicemen and veterans.

  21. February 12, 2017 at 8:16 pm —

The only way to look at a recruiter is as a massive douchecanoe with the sole intent to fuck you every way imaginable. And these 'tips' are in reality pointers on how to get that recruiter dick lodged up your asshole sideways quicker.
Remember kids – they don't give a single fuck about you, they have quotas to fill.

  22. February 12, 2017 at 8:16 pm —

I'm just joining because I want to become a police officer and can't afford college lol

  23. February 12, 2017 at 8:16 pm —

  24. February 12, 2017 at 8:16 pm —

Hello I really want to rejoin the Army nation guard but I need a waiver because I messed up when I was younger by quitting basic training. I realize that it was a super dumb choice over time and was wondering if it's easy to come across a waiver for that?

  25. February 12, 2017 at 8:16 pm —

Look at your recruiter like they will lie straight to your face, they will.

  26. February 12, 2017 at 8:16 pm —

  30. February 12, 2017 at 8:16 pm —

My experience is that there is not a lot of outright lying…..but a lot of things that aren't mentioned and truths that are bent.

i dont believe in everything this country is doing. also i dont wanna be someome else's bitch for the rest of my career

  32. February 12, 2017 at 8:16 pm —

Also, thank you for your service.

  33. February 12, 2017 at 8:16 pm —

I want to enlist. But my hips are deformed… I'm hoping to be able to get into the reserves. I hear that the basic training is a little less straining. I don't care about pain tbh. I'm just worried they won't take me because of that and a mental issue…

I also plan on the police academy if the Army doesn't work out.

  34. February 12, 2017 at 8:16 pm —

Most recruiters don't lie. What many people have to realize is that it's their job to, surprise, recruit you. They are going to do their best to convince you to join. Do your research before hand and realize that the recruiter can and may skip over small details and they may leave out the negative side of things as often as they can. It's not lying, it's doing their job.

  35. February 12, 2017 at 8:16 pm —

#1 you must be a brainless moron to join the national guard. It's state level no VA benefits if you get hurt training with these 1/2 assed morons.
#2 you have no value , your life is worthless.
#3. Your a slave to the military industrial complex- which is Zionist JEWS who wage war for Israel's benefit.
#4 if you answered yes to 123 then your qualified to belong to the NG nasty guard and your on your way to becoming a homeless divorced bum dedicating your life to an agency that won't give a rats ass about you "" when"" not if you get hurt.

  36. February 12, 2017 at 8:16 pm —
