Welcome to Qi Men Dun Jia. Hello, my name is Dougles Chan and I am the Qi Men Dun Jia teacher over here. From Singapore, I teach people how to use Qi Men Dun Jia to change their life and use the technique and science to have a better direction in life.
The topic I would like to talk about is related to why most people who learn Qi Men and want to become a master are not successful. The fact is that Qi Men Dun Jia is a skill. It is a trick, it is an industry. But most of them only learn the technical aspect of it. They do not know how to let people know that they have the skill set to help them. So, one is a technical skill, and the other one is to let people know about themselves. The masters themselves are marketing skills.
We cannot assume that after you learn Qi Men Dun Jia, you want to become a master, you will become popular. It doesn’t work that way. It is like you have a skill set. You learn certain skills, but nobody knows that you are good at these skills. So, you still need to market yourself, and you still need to brand yourself as a professional to let people know that you are good in this area.
What happens if somebody who is learning Qi Men Dun Jia for three months, six months, one year, or all goes for a two-day crash course in Qi Men, and they hope to become a master and make money from it?
What they should do is do some reading for people. As time goes by, word of mouth comes in slowly, more people introduce their customers, and this will take many years (three years, five years, ten years). You have to be active. Every year, you have to go to seminars, conferences, and give talks to tell people: “Oh, this year is a good year. This year is a red year. What is the whole thing about? What is the outlook for this particular year coming forward?”
It takes a lot of time. The thing is that a lot of people do not understand that they have to go through the process of marketing and branding themselves. Some people do not even know how to brand. They just do Qi Men Dun Jia, Feng Shui, Bazi, and sell a lot of functional items to hopefully help people and make money from it. Then from there, it becomes a joke of all trades. You do not have a brand, and you are not in a position to tell people that you are an expert on a particular subject. You are everywhere, which makes people perceive you as nothing. You are one of those hundreds or thousands of them.
To be successful in this particular trade (Qi Men Dun Jia, Feng Shui, or Bazi), you have to focus on one particular subject and tell people that you are an expert in it. You have to continue to do this and become an expert, then keep telling people that you are good at this subject.
It is about marketing and branding. Of course, you must have the skill and the ability to help people. I think that is the basic fundamental that you have to be.
If you just learn three weeks of Qi Men Dun Jia and hope you become a master. No, it does not work that way. Even if you go for a five-day crash course in Qi Men Dun Jia, you will not even become a master. You need to practice. It is like when you learn a certain martial art, you have to practice and practice. Well, it is the same! In Qi Men Dun Jia, you have to practice. It can take months or years of practice to become proficient. I am not talking about master level, I am talking about proficiency! You have to practice every single day to become good at what you are doing.
You see, apparently, a lot of people who do not understand, and because of that, they think that “Okay, I have this particular trade I learned already from the best of the best in this industry. And from there, I will become the best”. No! It does not work that way.
I hope this enlightens some of the people who want to learn Qi Men and become masters. You still have to go through the process of branding and marketing. There are certain years of routes that are better.
From there, if you really want to go into this industry, well, have a chat with me and then we can discuss some more.
