5 Element Explained in Qi Men Dun Jia

Today, we will cover this particular topic called “the 5 elements”. 5 elements are very important. They are the most basic of the Chinese metaphysics and also apply to Qi men Dun Jia. You must understand this lesson very well. If you do not know the next few things, you are going to decipher the divination or even Bazi with a lot of mistakes, and it may not be very accurate.

Today, we continue with lesson 6, which talks about 5 elements. 5 different elements stand Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. You must know that there are only 5 different elements. There is nothing else. We are going to decipher the information about what each individual element when combined together really means and the implications involved.

Why do you have to understand the 5 elements?
They are actually very important. When two different elements are combined together, what does it really mean?

For example, when Fire and Water combine, what will happen? Will the Fire be extinguish? Or the other way around? It depends on how big the Fire is and how much the volume of Water is.

In a nutshell, what we need to understand at this point of time is that the 5 elements actually represent the environment. Of course, it can also represent many other things. It may not be the environment, depending on the case’s basis. But at this point in time, for easy reference, we are talking about the environment first.

When the entire relationship of the 5 elements is combined together, what does it really mean? For the same example as Water and Fire, imagine Water and Fire coming together and assuming that the quantities are the same in terms of energy, what does Water actually eliminate Fire?
When combined together, your Fire energy will go down a lot. It means that the environment is being diminished.

If you have other symbols in Qi Men Dun Jia, they have different representations. If we are in a diminishing environment, that is not good. So, when you combine the elements in an environment with the different symbols, it gives you a certain indication of whether it is going to be a good thing or not. From there, you are able to decipher the information and decide on the prediction, divination, Bazi, or anything. It is going to give you a more holistic approach in this aspect.

This is a representation in terms of a graphic:

We have Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. If you see the external arrow, Wood produces Fire, Fire produces Earth, Earth produces Metal, Metal produces Water, and Water produces Wood. It is simple and first level you will need to understand.

On the other hand, if you want to look at the counter-producing environment, see the internal arrow. Wood controls Earth, Fire controls Metal, Metal controls Wood, Water controls Fire, so on and so forth.

As a basic student, you have to understand that, you have to memorize it by heart. But do not worry if you find that a bit difficult. You can always go through a few more in different cases or scenarios. From there, after a while, you get to get used to it. It is very important to know that this is a very basic of the five elements.

When you understand all these things, what does it imply? That is more important.

For example, Earth produces Metal and Metal and Earth energy is 100%. If I want to produce it by Earth to doubled by 200% or more, depending on how much the Earth is in terms of the energy, the Earth energy will decrease to 50%
Metal produces Water. Water increases in energy, Metal energy decreases, so on and so forth. This is the implication when we talk about the producing side.
