Hi, my name is Mr. Dougles Chan, and in today’s video, I want to share with you a very important concept that I call “The Power of One” in Qi Men Dun Jia learning.
If you’ve been studying Qi Men Dun Jia or any other metaphysics subject — such as BaZi, Feng Shui, or I Ching — you might have experienced this:
📚 You start learning enthusiastically,
📚 Then you read too much from different teachers,
📚 And after a few weeks or months… you get completely confused.
You might even feel like giving up.
That’s why I want to share with you The Power of One Method — a simple yet powerful way to truly master Qi Men Dun Jia without confusion or burnout.
🧩 What Is “The Power of One”?
The Power of One means:
Focus on one thing at a time, one method, one school, and one topic — until you truly understand it.
Many students try to combine five or six different schools of thought together — for example, one from Taiwan, one from Hong Kong, one from Singapore, one from China.
Each school teaches with different logic, different naming, and even different interpretation methods.
When you mix all of them, what happens?
❌ Confusion.
❌ Contradiction.
❌ Lost direction.
So instead of trying to learn everything at once, you must narrow your focus.
Stick to one school of thought first.
Keep all other materials aside — in a drawer, or even delete them temporarily.
When you have too many teachers, too many systems, and too many notes, you won’t be able to build a solid foundation.
⚙️ Step 1: Focus on One School of Thought
Choose one system and stay loyal to it for at least six months.
Don’t worry about whether it’s “the best” system.
The truth is: all systems work, if you practice them deeply.
Focus on what your current mentor teaches you.
Follow through with the exercises, readings, and case studies.
You can always explore others later, once your basics are strong.
⚙️ Step 2: Focus on One Topic Each Week
Qi Men Dun Jia has many elements —
8 Doors
9 Stars
8 Gods
Heavenly Stems
Earthly Branches
Trigrams
Each category is deep enough to take months to understand.
So, apply The Power of One by choosing only one topic per week.
For example:
📆 Week 1 — Study only the 8 Doors.
📆 Week 2 — Study only the 9 Stars.
📆 Week 3 — Study only the 8 Gods.
If 8 Doors already feels like too much, make it even simpler:
Study just one door per week.
Let’s say this week, you study only the Open Door — its meaning, symbolism, applications, and case examples.
Next week, move to the Rest Door, and so on.
When you go slow, your understanding becomes deeper.
You’ll remember better, connect faster, and apply the knowledge more effectively.
⚙️ Step 3: Practice Consistently
Learning Qi Men is 20% theory and 80% practice.
Once you’ve learned one concept, test it in real life.
Do chart readings for your friends, family, or even simple situations like:
“Should I travel today?”
“Is this a good time for a meeting?”
The more charts you read, the more patterns you’ll notice.
And eventually, what used to take hours to analyze will take just minutes.
🧠 Why This Method Works
The Power of One eliminates information overload and builds deep understanding.
Instead of skimming through hundreds of theories, you gain mastery in one method at a time.
Over time, this approach transforms confusion into confidence.
You’ll realize that true mastery doesn’t come from learning everything —
it comes from understanding one thing deeply.
🔮 A Personal Note
In my early years, I made the same mistake — I tried to learn from multiple schools at once.
It took me years to realize that the key was not learning more, but focusing more.
Once I applied the Power of One, my understanding of Qi Men exploded.
My readings became sharper, faster, and more accurate — and my students today are learning this same method with great success.
