The Obstruction Door is commonly linked with secrecy, hiding, research, training, retreat, and matters that are not easily seen on the surface. Some Qi Men sources describe it as representing obstacles, lack of opportunity, hidden matters, secrecy, traffic jams, authorities, police, military, and tax-related matters. It is also connected with hiding or escaping from certain situations when used appropriately. Other references associate Du Men with hiding, cultivation, research, training, and the Wood element in the Southeast/Xun palace. 

At the most basic level, the Obstruction Door represents a closed path. When this Door appears in a Qi Men chart, it may suggest that the situation is not progressing smoothly.
