How can a Qi Men Dun Jia chart reveal that a spouse may not be telling the full truth—and how do we move beyond a simple “yes or no” answer to understand what is really happening?
In this advanced lesson, Mr. Dougles Chan analyses a relationship case in which one spouse claims to be working late, while the other feels that something is wrong.
The first step is to clean the divination chart. This includes checking Tai Sui, Emptiness, palace energy, Six Punishments, Entering the Grave, and other formations.
After cleaning the chart, the reader examines the trust indicators.
The View Door represents information, documents, statements, and what a person says. Ding can also be used as a reference for information. When the View Door or Ding appears with Emptiness, Nine Heaven, the Problem Star, or the Black Tortoise, the information may be incomplete, exaggerated, questionable, or dishonest.
In this case, the View Door is initially empty, while Ding is linked with Nine Heaven and the Problem Star. These are multiple warning signs.
This does not mean every part of the story is false. The spouse may genuinely be working late, but may be hiding the complete reason, location, amount of time involved, or another activity connected to the extra hours.
Mr. Dougles Chan then demonstrates why relationship analysis should not stop at one palace.
The associated-partner palace shows the spouse’s role, behaviour, and emotional state.
The spouse’s birth-year stem provides an additional palace showing the person’s current condition.
The husband-and-wife duty indicators show whether each person is fulfilling their role in the marriage.
Together, these perspectives create a fuller picture.
The spouse’s current condition shows the Injury Door with the Black Tortoise. The Injury Door may represent indirect wealth, investments, trading, commissions, gambling, or speculative activity.
The Black Tortoise can indicate secrecy, hidden financial matters, deception, or loss of money.
Together, these symbols raise the possibility that the spouse has lost money through gambling, investments, a questionable business opportunity, or another form of indirect wealth.
The Dispute Door and Serpent add arguments, anxiety, entanglement, worry, and ongoing complications. This suggests that the person is under pressure and may be dealing with problems that are not being openly discussed at home.
The spouse-duty palace is weak and affected by Emptiness, Darkness, and the Death Door. This can indicate that the person is not fully performing their role in the relationship.
However, the chart should not be interpreted too quickly as a lack of love or deliberate betrayal.
The Horse Star connected to the other spouse may show frequent travel, movement, or absence from home. One person may feel that the other is rarely present.
The problem may involve financial stress, hidden obligations, poor communication, absence from home, arguments, and emotional exhaustion.
Mr. Dougles Chan proposes another possibility. The spouse may truly be working overtime, but not necessarily in the same company or position.
The hidden job indicators suggest a second job, freelance work, or part-time employment to repay debts.
This would explain why the statement “I am working late” may be partly true while important details remain concealed.
The lesson also explains that metaphysical reading should not be reduced to asking which palace is more important.
The Day Stem, associated-partner palace, birth-year stem, and duty palace may all provide relevant information. The goal is not to rank them.
The correct question is: how does each piece of information contribute to the final story?
Mr. Dougles Chan introduces the “diamond technique” for deeper interpretation.
Instead of looking at a chart as a flat diagram, imagine entering the palace and observing every symbol from different directions. Visualise how the Door, Star, God, stem, palace element, and surrounding relationships interact.
The diamond can move from palace to palace, allowing the reader to view the situation from the top, side, front, and back.
This visualisation helps transform separate technical meanings into a coherent human story.
With practice, the reader begins to recognise patterns intuitively. Injury with Black Tortoise may suggest financial loss. Serpent with Dispute may indicate entanglement and anxiety. Darkness may reveal hidden activity, while weak duty indicators may explain why the marriage feels neglected.
The final lesson is that the spouse may not be telling the complete truth, but the hidden issue may be financial distress rather than an affair.
A responsible reading should encourage honest communication and fact-finding instead of immediately creating suspicion or conflict.
