How to Truly Understand Your Children with Qi Men Dun Jia | Part 2

How do we truly understand our children?
Why do some children struggle, feel pressured, or lose motivation even though their parents believe they are “doing the right thing”?

In this video, Dougles Chan (Mr. Dougles Chan) shares how Qi Men Dun Jia (Qimen) can be used as a powerful metaphysical framework to help parents understand their children at a much deeper level — beyond assumptions, traditions, and societal expectations.

Many parents raise their children based on what their own parents or grandparents did in the past. This approach often comes from good intentions, but there is one fundamental truth that cannot be ignored: every child is different. What worked for one generation does not necessarily work for the next. What appears “right” may not actually be right for the child.

Mr. Dougles Chan explains that not everyone can be motivated to become a champion in the same way. Not every child has the same strengths, interests, or natural inclinations. Some children may excel academically, while others may thrive in arts, music, creativity, or practical skills. The problem arises when parents push children into paths they are not suited for — or worse, paths they dislike.

This is a situation many parents are familiar with. Children are sent to multiple enrichment classes: piano lessons, ballet lessons, academic tutoring, and other structured programs. Over time, the child may perform well, pass exams, or even achieve high levels such as Grade 8 in piano. Yet internally, the child feels unhappy, stressed, and disconnected. This pressure can eventually manifest as emotional distress, resistance, or even health-related issues.

Qi Men Dun Jia offers a way to see beyond surface achievements. By using a Qi Men chart, parents can gain insight into a child’s natural tendencies, strengths, and suitable directions. This helps parents understand whether a child is naturally inclined toward academics, arts, leadership, technical skills, or other areas — instead of forcing them into predefined molds.

A key point emphasized in this video is that a child’s path does not have to match the parent’s path. Even if a parent is a successful pianist, entrepreneur, or professional, it does not mean the child must follow the same journey. Forcing children to replicate their parents’ lives often leads to internal conflict and long-term dissatisfaction.

Qi Men Dun Jia helps parents shift from control to understanding. Instead of asking, “What should my child do?”, the better question becomes, “What is my child naturally suited for?” When a child is aligned with their own direction, learning becomes enjoyable, effort becomes meaningful, and growth happens more naturally.

This approach does not remove discipline or guidance. Instead, it allows parents to guide their children in a way that respects individuality and reduces unnecessary pressure. By understanding a child’s chart, parents can make better decisions about education, activities, and long-term development — saving years of trial, error, and emotional strain.

This video is especially valuable for:

Parents feeling confused about their child’s behavior or motivation

Families experiencing stress around education or performance

Parents who want to support their child without forcing expectations

Qi Men Dun Jia practitioners applying metaphysics to family and parenting

Qi Men Dun Jia is not about predicting a child’s future. It is about understanding who they are, so they can grow into their strengths instead of struggling against their nature.
