Hi, my name is Mr. Dougles Chan, and today I want to share an important concept that every Qi Men Dun Jia student must understand — The Five Elements and how they truly work inside a Qi Men chart, whether in Divination or Destiny Reading.
Many students ask me,
“Master Dougles, how does the Five Element actually affect my Qi Men Dun Jia chart?”
You’ve probably heard about them — Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth.
But understanding their interaction is not just about memorizing a cycle chart — it’s about recognizing how energy is produced, controlled, and exchanged in every reading.
🧭 The Core of Qi Men Dun Jia — Energy Flow
Qi Men Dun Jia is built entirely on energy flow.
The Five Elements are the foundation of that flow.
Every element has its own nature:
Wood grows and expands.
Fire rises and transforms.
Earth stabilizes and nourishes.
Metal contracts and sharpens.
Water flows and connects.
When two of these elements meet inside your chart, they create a chemical reaction — a flow of energy between the two.
That flow determines whether the outcome is positive, negative, or neutral.
🔥 Producing Relationship — The Flow of Giving
When one element produces another, it means energy is being transferred.
For example, Fire produces Earth.
That means Fire gives its energy to Earth, and Earth becomes stronger.
In simple terms:
The giver (Fire) becomes weaker because it gives energy.
The receiver (Earth) becomes stronger because it gains energy.
Think about this in real life.
If someone teaches you a new skill or shares knowledge with you — they are giving away energy (Fire), and you are gaining knowledge (Earth).
This is what we call the productive cycle — one side gives, one side receives.
In most cases, this is considered a positive interaction, but remember: the giver always depletes slightly in the process.
⚔️ Controlling or Clashing Relationship — The Flow of Conflict
Now, when one element controls or clashes with another, energy becomes disrupted.
For example, Fire controls Metal.
This means Fire suppresses Metal’s energy.
In this case:
The controlling side (Fire) exerts force — it uses energy to dominate.
The controlled side (Metal) becomes depleted or uncomfortable.
That’s why in Qi Men readings, when we see strong controlling interactions, it represents pressure, conflict, or resistance in real life.
💼 Real Example: Career and Job
Let’s apply this to your career in a Destiny Chart.
Imagine your Career Palace element clashes with your Self Palace element.
That means your job environment is constantly draining you —
Your work may bring results, but at a cost to your energy.
You might feel tired, frustrated, or demotivated after some time, no matter how hard you try.
This is what we call an energy depletion relationship.
In contrast, if your Career Palace produces your Self Palace, it means your job is supporting you — giving you strength, resources, and momentum.
💬 Real Example: Teacher and Student Energy
In teaching, this is very visible.
When a teacher (the producing element) gives knowledge to a student (the receiving element), the student grows stronger.
But the teacher will feel tired or drained after a long day of teaching — because they have given their energy away.
That’s the true logic of the Five Elements in action.
🌿 Understanding Energy in Divination and Destiny
Whether you’re doing a Divination Chart or a Destiny Chart, the Five Elements act like invisible wires connecting every symbol — stars, doors, and deities.
Each interaction shows:
Who is helping who (producing cycle)
Who is draining who (controlling cycle)
Where energy is flowing
Where energy is blocked
Once you understand this energy map, you’ll be able to predict outcomes with incredible accuracy — not just guesswork, but through logic and flow.
📚 Learn the True Structure of Energy Flow
In my Qi Men Dun Jia Apprentice Training, I teach my students to see beyond the surface symbols.
You’ll learn how to:
✅ Identify energy flow between palaces and elements
✅ Recognize depletion and growth cycles
✅ Apply producing and controlling cycles in real-life readings
✅ Interpret charts with accuracy using real examples

🧭 Final Thought
The Five Elements are not just theory — they are the living pulse of Qi Men Dun Jia.
Every chart you open, every decision you make, every question you ask — all of it is energy in motion.
When you understand how elements interact, you begin to understand how destiny itself moves.
So the next time you read a chart, don’t just see symbols — see the energy exchange between them.
Because that’s where the truth lies.
