When two charts are in conflict assemble the Three Wonders within each chart and compare which set directly speaks to the action you can take. The chart whose Three Wonders form a coherent directive wins. If one chart gives conflicting Three Wonders it is unreliable for that question.

When to trust a single strong indicator

One dominant element can override a general pattern. For example a commanding Gate like Open or Rest will take precedence in immediate moves because Gates control mechanics. Similarly a dominant Star such as Tian (Heaven) or Fu (Fortune) can shift probability even when other factors are mediocre. Identify dominance by clarity: a single indicator repeated across Heaven panel and Earth panel counts as dominant.

Watch for corroboration across panels

Corroboration between Heaven panel and Earth panel is rare and valuable. When both panels point the same way you can act with higher confidence. When they oppose each other you need to examine which panel maps to a lever you actually control. If you control timing choose Heaven panel. If you control environment or resources choose Earth panel.

Use Six Instruments to test feasibility

Six Instruments (the practical tools and calculations) translate portent into plan. When charts disagree use the Six Instruments to simulate the execution path. If the plan fails under the Six Instruments the auspicious chart is theoretical only. If the plan holds, the chart is actionable. Always test plans this way before committing resources.

Ignore flattering but irrelevant charts

People often prefer the chart that flatters their hopes. Do not be that person. A chart that promises general luck but does not map to the Gate or Star that governs your decision is noise. Dismiss any chart that cannot be operationalized by the Three Wonders or Six Instruments for your exact question.

When confronted with two conflicting charts follow these steps in order. Each step discards the least useful chart with surgical clarity.

• Restate the precise action you will take and the variable you can change.
• Identify which panel controls that variable, Heaven panel or Earth panel.
• Assemble the Three Wonders within each chart and see which supplies a coherent directive.
• Run the Six Instruments as a feasibility test on the directive that passed step three.
• Choose the chart that survives steps one through four; if both survive prefer the one with the clearer Gate sequence.

Edge cases and when to combine

Some operations require hybrid answers. In those cases use parallel plays. Assign the chart that controls timing to the schedule and assign the chart that controls environment to resource allocation. Use the Three Wonders to align messaging and the Six Instruments to align execution. This is not compromise. This is allocation of authority by functional domain.

Never defer to aesthetics

Charts can be beautiful and useless. Stop selecting charts because they look auspicious. Choose charts because they give clear, actionable, testable directions tied to the variable you can change. Authority in Qi Men Dun Jia is earned through causal relevance, not vibe.
