Understand what you are testing. The Heaven and Earth panels are the two layered boards that determine where the 8 Doors, 9 Stars, and 8 Gods sit relative to the palaces. The Heaven panel records cosmic rotations, while the Earth panel fixes the spatial coordinates on the ground. Errors in either panel create inconsistent relationships across the chart.
Confirm the day stem and branch that anchor the Heaven panel. Confirm the Earth plate rotation that places the 9 Stars into palaces. Three Wonders is the acid test

Three Wonders means the correlation between Heaven, Earth, and Human factors. The Heaven check is time and calendar integrity. The Earth check is palace and panel alignment. The Human check is the question or subject and the context. If those three do not point in the same tactical direction, distrust the chart first and tools second.
Run the Three Wonders test like this. First validate the time to confirm the Heaven component. Second calculate palace positions to confirm the Earth component. Third map obvious facts about the person or event to the Human component. If any of the Three Wonders contradict each other materially, you have a generation error or input error to fix before reading outcomes.
What to check among 8 Doors, 9 Stars, and 8 Gods
Know what each set represents when you test them. The 8 Doors are the functional actions or outcomes in a palace. The 9 Stars are the core energetic signatures that color those actions. The 8 Gods are spiritual or operational modifiers that change how Doors and Stars express. Each set must be internally consistent on position and sequence.
Check rotation direction for the 8 Doors sequence and for the 9 Stars sequence. Check that the 8 Gods are placed according to the same convention your system claims to follow. If your engine mixes conventions, specific palaces will show impossible combinations like open Door with a forbidding God when, by rule, that pairing cannot happen in the applied system.
Practical numeric checks you can execute in five minutes
- Confirm the Jia Zi day and hour match the source timestamp. Calculate stem and branch by hand if needed. A wrong Jia Zi invalidates everything that follows.
- Confirm the day stem determines Yin or Yang chart form. Check rotation direction accordingly.
- Confirm the palace index for the Chief Palace by counting from the reference palace using the same rotation your method requires.
- Cross check that the 9 Stars sum to the expected palace pattern for that day stem. Simple mismatches are diagnostic of a generator bug.
- Validate that the 8 Doors follow legal adjacency rules. Doors cannot jump; they rotate through palaces predictably.
Backtest against an anchor event
Use a past event you already know to be decisive. Recreate the chart for that timestamp and ask: Did the 8 Doors and 9 Stars point to the actual outcome? If the chart predicted the event in clear palace-language, the generator is likely correct. If the chart is ambiguous or opposite, do not trust it for future decisions.
Prefer anchors with clear, one-directional results such as contract signings, arrests, launches, or sudden financial gains or losses. Avoid ambiguous human feelings or long-term developments when you are validating mechanics.
Software validation and common failure modes
Most chart errors are software errors or human input errors in conversion steps. The common failure modes are wrong time zone, wrong daylight saving handling, wrong longitude sign, mixed convention for Doors or Stars, and library functions that map stem to rotation incorrectly.

How to proceed when the chart fails
If a chart fails any of the mechanical or Three Wonders checks, do not attempt interpretation. Trace back to the simplest input first. Rebuild the chart step by step and document which step changes the palace layout. Fix the input or the algorithm. Only once the charts consistently match anchors and mechanical tests should you proceed to tactical reading with Doors, Stars, and Gods.
If the chart fails these checks, discard it and find the error.
